This 34-home community in the Sierra foothills is located just a few blocks from Nevada City’s main street with cafes, restaurants, retail stores, City Hall and a small grocery store. Broad Street Commons will boast a 3,920 square foot common house complete with a workshop, gourmet kitchen, a pool, and much more. By clustering the homes on half of the 11 acre site, over 6 acres of ponderosa forest is left undisturbed. Designed by McCamant & Durrett Architects, the community includes many green building features such as the use of sustainably harvested lumber and energy efficient hydronic heating. The community is particularly excited about their plan to install a solar photovoltaic system that will provide most of the electricity for the community.
